The secret to tender homemade meatballs is breadcrumbs and a combination of meat.

Start by preheating the oven to 350°. Line a baking sheet with foil and generously coat the foil with cooking spray.

Next, in a large bowl, using clean hands, combine the ground beef, sausage, onion, parmesan bread crumbs, egg, parsley, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Combine all the ingredients and form into 12 meatballs.

Bake the meatballs until browned and cooked through, about 25 minutes.

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. All the onion and garlic and cook until softened, 3 to 4 minutes.

Next, add the pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, sweetener, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Stir to combine, cover, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.

While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Cook the pasta to al dente according to the package directions. Drain.
