Some homes are built to impress. We wanted to build one that actually feels like home. Come inside our European Modern Farmhouse Tour.

When Daron and I first started planning the Edenbrook Project, we both knew it would be something special. This was our first home build for the Cincinnati Magazine Showcase of Homes, a house we designed, built, and styled completely together from the ground up. Every single decision, from the floor plan and exterior materials to the interior finishes and lighting, was ours.

And when the doors opened to the public? We were blown away.

Thousands of visitors came through to experience this European Modern Farmhouse Tour in person. They stopped to say hello, to share what moved them, to linger in rooms they did not want to leave. Seeing people feel what we had hoped they would feel made every late night and every hard decision worth every single second.

Our Design Vision: European Modern Farmhouse

Our goal from the very beginning was simple. We wanted to create a home that feels elegant and livable at the same time. We wanted old world European character, aged textures, timeless materials, and modern light all living beautifully together under one roof.

Not a showroom. A home. A real one, built for a real family.

The Great Room: Where It All Comes Together

The centerpiece of Edenbrook soars with 20 foot vaulted ceilings and light oak beams that carry through the entire main level. Surrounding rooms feature 12 foot ceilings and warm white oak floors, creating visual flow and that grounded, settled feeling that only real craftsmanship can give you.

When you walk in, you feel it immediately. That is exactly what we were going for.

The Kitchen: The Room That Stopped Everyone

If there was one room that made visitors stop and catch their breath, it was this kitchen.

We chose cabinetry in Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray so the architecture could be the real star. We carried the beams through the ceiling to echo the great room, and then we anchored the whole design with one feature that nobody saw coming.

The stone wall.

From the very beginning I knew I wanted to bring exterior stone inside. But it was Daron’s idea to carry the German smear finish from the outside in, and the moment it came together I knew it was the most beautiful decision we made in this entire home. Real stone, softened with a German smear finish, marrying the exterior and interior into one timeless European inspired story. The kitchen also showcased luxury GE Monogram appliances.

The Hidden Pantry: Where Function Meets a Little Magic

If the stone wall grounds the home, the hidden pantry is where the magic lives.

Concealed behind custom cabinetry, it feels like a secret door waiting to be discovered. We chose deep green cabinetry, a checkerboard tile floor, and a library style ladder for both function and charm. A wallpapered ceiling, acrylic hardware, and a blown glass light fixture pull the whole look together into something that feels whimsical and intentional all at once.

Practical spaces can be beautiful too. The hidden pantry at Edenbrook proves it.

The Details That Tell the Story

Every corner of Edenbrook has something to say.

We carried champagne bronze fixtures throughout the entire home for continuity and warmth. The powder bath pairs a penny tile floor with eclectic wallpaper for a look that feels collected and completely intentional. Rattan sconces bring natural texture into spaces that needed softening.

The office is a quiet nod to Triple Crown Farm’s equestrian roots. Painted Shade Grown by Sherwin Williams, the deep green walls create a rich and settled backdrop anchored by a Ralph Lauren light fixture and an original oil painting from Rita’s Furniture. It is refined, it is rooted, and it is one of my favorite rooms in the entire house.

The cottage bedroom is the opposite energy, relaxed and effortlessly welcoming. Rattan sconces, a casual gallery wall, layered details that feel collected rather than curated. The kind of room you walk into and immediately exhale.

The Primary Suite: Our Boutique Spa Moment

We wanted the primary suite to feel like checking into somewhere beautiful and never wanting to leave.

Calm, layered, restful. Neutral linens and light oak beams create quiet luxury without trying too hard. The bath features porcelain tile from floor to ceiling, dual showerheads, and a freestanding soaking tub finished with two crystal chandeliers that catch the light like jewelry.

Even the laundry room got the full treatment. Painted a serene blue with a pearl backsplash, it turns one of the most mundane daily tasks into a small moment of joy. Because why shouldn’t it?

Spaces Built for Real Life

Upstairs, the bunk and game rooms are built for laughter, late nights, and the kind of memories that stick. The finished lower level includes a movie room and guest suite ready for family and friends.

Outside, a paver and turf courtyard with a firepit extends the living space into the open air. It is the perfect spot for evenings under the stars, and honestly where we would spend every night if we could.

At over 5,000 square feet, with five bedrooms, five and a half baths, and generous outdoor living, Edenbrook is everything we believe a home should be. Refined but real. Polished but personal.

A Milestone We Built Together

The Edenbrook Project is a milestone for us in every sense of the word. It is the first home Daron and I built completely together, combining his builder’s precision with my passion for storytelling through design. Every beam, every tile, every color choice holds a piece of who we are.

Building Edenbrook reminded us that a home is more than a floor plan or a color palette. It is a story sketched on napkins, prayed over at midnight, and refined through grace and a whole lot of grit.

When guests stepped inside Edenbrook during the showcase, we hope they felt what we felt while building it. Warmth. Peace. And maybe just a little inspiration to dream bigger about their own homes and families.

Because when beauty and purpose meet, something lasting is built. Not just in a house, but in the hearts of the people who walk through it.
