Hey, Y’all! Just sharing updates from this past week, and WOW! was it a busy week for our family. Not to mention that I can’t believe we are already starting a new month. Goodbye February and Hello March.

1. We Sold Our House!

Let’s start with the big news that we celebrated, selling our house in Ivy Trails! We loved the Ivy Trails home and made many memories there as a family. It was a great first home together for our blended family of 5.  It gave us plenty of space for learning how to do life with each other and allowed us room to grow through this past season of transition.

We sold our home to a beautiful family of four, and we are thankful to our excellent realtor Carrie McVicker’s who helped make the selling of our home easy and seamless. One of the day’s highlights was getting to pray with the new homeowners and bless the house and their family as they start this next chapter of their lives!

2. Dinner at Jeff Ruby’s

The second highlight of closing on the house is number two on our Farmer 5 this week. Daron and I surprised the kids with dinner reservations to our favorite restaurant, Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse. We thought this would be a great way to celebrate selling the house as it was the kids’ first time going to a Jeff Ruby’s steakhouse. We had a fantastic night as a family talking and sharing our favorite memories over the past three years.  And of course, the food was incredible!

3. Favorite Scriptures at the New House

Daron is also making much progress on the new house build. The house is completely framed and under roof now, which is a big deal! As a family, we went through the new home, and took turns writing our favorite scriptures over the rooms’ doorposts, and prayed together. Doing this together was a special time for us and made for a lasting memory that I don’t think the kids will ever forget.  Read more here along with 21 of our favorite bible verses to bless your new house or remodel.

4. Old Fashioned Spaghetti and Meatballs

All of you know I love to cook, and one of our family’s favorite recipes is my Old Fashioned Spaghetti and Meatballs. As one of our last suppers at the Ivy Trails house, I made sure to make this meal as it’s easy, and the kids love it. The meatballs make this recipe, as I use part sweet Italian sausage and part lean ground sirloin and mix with parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic, and fresh parsley. You can find this recipe in my Skinny Suppers Cookbook.

5. My Favorite Swimsuits

Rounding out the Farmer 5 is swimsuits! Yes, even if we don’t feel quite ready to start thinking about swimsuits and tanning, Spring Break time is here. To help us all get a jump start on packing and finding that perfect bathing suit, I put together a list of my favorite 25 swimsuits, including this cute swimsuit that I recently purchased and love from Target.
