Daron, Ethan, and Hailey sang “Same God” by Elevation Worship and I absolutely love it. The lyrics of this song are spot on – We may not face Goliath as David did in the Bible, but we all have our own giants to conquer in life. It brings me incredible peace knowing that He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever!
How Can We Be Sure He Is the Same God?
Hebrews 13:8 and Malachi 3:6 declare that God is always the same and never changes. He’s always good, always loving, and always all-powerful. So no matter how much this world changes, we can trust Him to be our rock. He’s consistent. When He makes a promise in the Bible, we can rest knowing He’s faithful to His word. The best part about this for me is that no sin or hardship will cause Him to withdraw from us. On the contrary, he has committed to loving us even when we fall short.
Evidence He is the Same God:
God repeatedly demonstrates his love for us in both the Old and New Testaments. From Genesis through Revelation, He unfolds His wondrous love toward unruly and disobedient people. Jonah ran from the Lord, but the Lord corrected his steps. Thomas doubted He had risen, but Jesus appeared to him despite his disbelief. Moses struggled with stuttering and confidence, believing he couldn’t deliver his people, but God gave him the words he needed to do just that.
He’s immovable in His plan to deliver us, as Hebrews 6:17 states: “Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.” What He promises comes to pass for His glory and the good of all creation.
When God told Moses, “I am that I am,” we can safely accept he meant it! My prayer for you today is that you can believe it too and open your hearts to receive all He has for you – Plans to prosper and not harm you, but to give you hope and a future.
He has restored so much in my life. I know He will do it for you!
XOXO,
