If you have never had Black Bean Brownies you are truly missing out. Loaded down with fiber and chocolate, did I say chocolate? You’ll never even notice you are eating a healthier for you brownie if you didn’t make it! The fun part? Not telling the family it’s healthy for you!
These black bean brownies are so chocolatey and fudgy that you won’t even realize they’re different from traditional brownies! They’re soft, gooey, and perfect to devour with a fork when they come out of the oven. Aside from the magical chocolate taste, the next best thing about these brownies is that one is just over 100 calories, so you can indulge guilt-free. Not to mention, they’re also gluten-free! So if you can’t eat gluten, you definitely won’t be missing out on these puppies. My secret is cutting out some of the traditional, unhealthy brownie ingredients and innovating with black beans! I promise you can’t taste the difference.
Can you add black beans to brownie mix?
This black bean brownie recipe is so easy, I don’t know why you would want to add black beans to a boxed brownie mix. However, if you are wanting to do so, I don’t think it’s a good idea, for several reasons. The store bought brownie mix is loaded with much more sugar, is made with oil and eggs and sometimes water. This recipe uses applesauce in place of those ingredients as well as the added nutrients of the black beans.
How many calories are in a black bean brownie?
My black bean brownie recipe contains just 109 calories! A box made brownie contains in upwards of 340 calories per brownie for those fancy brownie mixes!
