While eating healthy, it is still important to indulge in comfort food every now and then. My Healthy Turkey Meatballs Recipe is the perfect mix of healthy and indulgent. I start by combining some lean ground turkey with onions, garlic, Italian seasoning, and breadcrumbs. An egg binds everything together before I shape the meatballs. A smaller meatball will fit easily on a fork or sandwich, so I roll them out a little smaller. Bake and serve these Healthy Turkey Meatballs with your favorite marinara or meat sauce. These are the best meatballs ever!

Why Bake Instead of Fry?
These meatballs are baked, so that they have even heat all around them and they cook in no time. When frying on the stove, significantly more oil or fat is needed to properly cook the meatballs. More oil and fat leads to more fat and calories in the final dish. When baking, there is no added oil or fat, which keeps the calorie count low and the nutritional benefits high!
Many common dishes can be baked as opposed to fried. Baking in the oven is just as delicious as frying is, and the process is just as easy. If you want more baked alternatives, try my Gluten Free Oven Fried Chicken Tenders!

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cooled reserved onion and garlic mixture, turkey, egg, breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning.
Using clean hands, mix together until all of the ingredients are combined.
