A sisters-and-mama weekend full of rooftop vibes, coconut lattes, antique hunting, and one very deserving mama-to-be

When your baby sister tells you she’s expecting baby number five (yes, five) you don’t just show up with a onesie and a store-bought card. You plan a trip. A real trip. A sisters-and-mama, rooftop-views, coconut-latte, antique-hunting, baby-shower-meets-girls-weekend kind of trip. And when you’re us? You head straight to Nashville.
We called it the Boot Scootin’ Baby. A girls getaway to celebrate our girl, her growing family, and honestly, just the pure joy of being together. If you’ve been dreaming up Nashville girls trip ideas or need a baby shower itinerary that doesn’t feel like a bachelorette party clone, pull up a chair, friend. This one’s for you.
Where We Stayed: The Graduate Hotel Nashville
If you have not stayed at the Graduate Hotel in Nashville, stop what you’re doing and book it right now. I mean it. This place is every bit of the pink, country, feminine energy you’re looking for, and then some. The rooftop alone is worth the stay. Gorgeous views, the best vibes, and just far enough from the chaos of Broadway that you can actually breathe and enjoy yourself.
It’s close enough to walk where you want to go, but with that boutique hotel feel that makes you want to linger over coffee on the rooftop all Saturday morning. For a girls trip, especially one built around celebrating a mama-to-be, it was absolutely perfect. Highly, highly recommend.
Friday Night: The Hampton Social
We kicked off the trip exactly right with a beautiful dinner, great food, and even better conversation. The Hampton Social did not disappoint. It’s the kind of dinner where you look around the table and think, this is exactly what I needed. Beautiful space, great menu, the right amount of Nashville cool without trying too hard. Perfect start to the weekend.
Saturday Morning: Milk & Honey in the Gulch
The coconut lattes that will ruin all other lattes for you.
Saturday, we made a whole day of it, and it started where every great Nashville morning should: Milk & Honey in the Gulch. Y’all. The coconut lattes. The homemade pop tarts. I don’t have words except that I dream about them. It is busy, it is worth it, and if you are building a Nashville girls weekend itinerary, this is non-negotiable stop number one.
Antique Shopping: The Gulch & Beyond
After breakfast, we went digging for treasure, Nashville-style. We hit Gas Lamp Antiques and wandered a few other vintage spots nearby. This is one of my favorite things about Nashville. The antique and vintage scene is genuinely excellent. Whether you’re hunting for farmhouse finds, one-of-a-kind pieces, or just something to touch and wander past, you could spend hours.
Pro tip: wear comfortable shoes and leave room in your trunk. You will find something you cannot leave without.
Day Trip to Franklin, TN: Don’t Skip This
One of my absolute favorite things to do on a Nashville girls weekend is take the quick drive down to Franklin, Tennessee. Franklin is charming, walkable, and the kind of place that makes you slow down in the best way.
We had lunch at Puckett’s, a Franklin classic for good reason. Great food, great atmosphere, very much the soul of Tennessee on a plate. Then we wandered through downtown Franklin’s shops, which are lovely for browsing and picking up little gifts.
After shopping, we took a slow drive down Old Hillsboro Road, swinging past Green Hills and just taking in the scenery. Gorgeous homes, rolling Tennessee hills, the kind of drive that reminds you why people fall in love with this state.
The 12 South Photo Shoot: A Baby Shower Gift She’ll Keep Forever
This was one of my favorite ideas from the whole trip, and honestly one I want every mama-to-be to know about. Do a photo shoot on 12 South.
The neighborhood is lined with beautiful murals, great light, and genuine Nashville character. It doesn’t feel staged. It feels real and lovely and exactly right for capturing a moment worth remembering forever. We hired the incredibly talented Paige Robinson as our photographer and just spent a sweet chunk of time laughing, telling stories, and being photographed doing it. It was one of the best gifts we could have given our baby sister, something tangible to hold onto from this beautiful season of her life.
While you’re on 12 South, do not skip the Kendra Scott Yellow Rose store. It is every bit as beautiful as it sounds. And 12 South itself is a whole afternoon. Boutiques, coffee at La La Land, great food, and little shops. Plan to linger.
12 South Nashville must-do list:
- Book a photo shoot with a local photographer. Paige Robinson is wonderful and the murals make the most beautiful backdrop
- Kendra Scott Yellow Rose store. Stunning, don’t skip it
- Buttermilk Ranch. Comfort food done right, a 12 South staple
- La La Land. The cutest coffee spot, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up
- Fonda. Amazing Mexican, fresh and full of flavor
- Browse the boutiques along 12th Ave. So many good ones
Sunday Morning: The Farmstead
Friends, let me tell you about The Farmstead. This is my absolute favorite breakfast spot in Nashville and I do not say that lightly. It has this charming, unhurried feel. Picnic tables, nothing too fussy, just really wonderful breakfast food served in the most welcoming little setting. The kind of place where you slow down, look across the table at your people, and feel genuinely grateful. If you’re in Nashville for a weekend, The Farmstead goes on your Sunday morning rotation. Period.
If You Have More Time: Arrington Vineyards
One of my top recommendations if you have an extra afternoon is Arrington Vineyards, about 30 minutes south of Nashville. It’s owned by Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn fame and it is absolutely beautiful. Rolling Tennessee hills, great wine, live music on weekends, and the most relaxed pastoral atmosphere. Spread out a blanket and lose track of time in the best possible way. Perfect for a girls trip, a babymoon, or just a slow Sunday.

The Heart of It All
Here’s what I want you to take away. The Graduate Hotel is beautiful, Milk & Honey will change your morning routine, and 12 South is as charming as everyone says. But what made this trip was the people around the table. My baby sister, glowing and expecting her fifth baby. Of course my sweet mom. And my favorite friends…my sisters.
We laughed until we almost cried and told stories we’ve told a hundred times and loved them just as much. Of course we ate way too much good food and didn’t apologize for a single bite. And we took pictures that I will print and frame and look at for the rest of my life.
If you have a mama-to-be in your life, a sister you haven’t slow-downed with in too long, or a mom who deserves a weekend away, plan the trip. Nashville will take good care of you.
Boot scootin’ baby, we love you to the moon.
