Can I Use Espresso In This Smoothie?
You can certainly use espresso instead of coffee in this smoothie. The difference between coffee and espresso is how it is made, which starts from the beans. The coffee beans that are roasted for espresso are normally roasted longer and they are grounded finer as well. It creates a stronger taste.
If you use espresso in this mocha smoothie, you will likely find the flavor stronger. To me, that’s just fine, but if you prefer more chocolate versus coffee flavor, then stick with regular coffee instead.
Will Cold Brew Coffee Work for this Mocha Smoothie?
When you are making this mocha smoothie, you will want to make sure the coffee is chilled. It will make the best tasting smoothie and will not melt the ice or frozen fruit. If that means you use a cold brew coffee, then that works great. In fact, there are many excellent brands of cold brew in the refrigerated beverages section of your grocery store that make this even more convenient to make.
