Dark chocolate has tons of health benefits, in addition to being good for the soul. My Dark Chocolate Guinness Beer Cake is a sweet treat that is perfect for a special occasion or a birthday. Guinness beer adds a wonderful flavor and lightness, as well as texture and aroma to the cake. I like to use unsweetened cocoa powder and applesauce in this cake to control just how much sugar is inside. What Are the Health Benefits of Dark Chocolate?
Dark chocolate contains cocoa solids and cocoa butter, but is absent of any butter or cream, which is found in milk chocolate. As one of the most nutrient-dense sweets on the planet, dark chocolate also contains tons of antioxidants not found in other foods. The lower the sugar content of your dark chocolate, the healthier it will be.
I have met way more choco-holics in my life than non-chocolate lovers, so this recipe appeals to all chocolate fans. Want more chocolate recipes in your life? Try my Healthier Chocolate Chip Coconut Banana Bread!
