It seems like everyone’s mother or grandmother has a famous tomato meat sauce recipe that lasts generations. My Healthy and Homemade Pasta Meat Sauce Recipe is perfect because health never goes out of style! I begin by browning to lean ground turkey (or beef) along with some veggies. Next, I add tomatoes and some really yummy seasonings to the meat and veggies. For garnish, I like to fold in some fresh basil leaves for that homemade taste. Your new tradition will be my Healthy and Homemade Pasta Meat Sauce Recipe!

How Is This Sauce Healthy?

Usually, tomato meat sauce that grandma made was full of fatty ground beef, oil, and little to no veggies. While that is delicious, it is not good for you. By making some simple swaps in the ingredients, we can create a meat sauce that tastes similar to the classic but is much better for your health in the long-run. I like to use ground turkey meat instead of beef to cut down on fat and calories. I also love the flavor and texture of ground turkey more than beef. There is also no sugar in this sauce, although tomatoes sometimes require sweetness. I add Stevia instead to keep this sauce keto and healthy.

The beautiful part about this sauce is that you can serve it with anything! For serving ideas, try my Oven Roasted Zucchini Chips.
